Herve Hoste (DVM, PhD, HdR) has worked on the interactions between nematodes and the digestive environment for 20 years. Within this theme, his team has explored the use of tannin containing resources as an alternative to chemical anthelmintics to control gastro intestinal nematodes in sheep and goats. Studies have been performed to better understand the interactions between polyphenols and nematodes and to define the optimal conditions to use these nutraceuticals on farm. These researches have been performed within several EU projects (e.g. Marie Curie network Healthy Hay or Legume plus).
H. Hoste group has conducted research in Veterinary Parasitology for more than 30 years with ~ 140 publications in international scientific journals and/or book chapters and more than 30 articles of R&D to disseminating the results towards the veterinary and farming communities. Supervision: PhD (14), MSc (20), DVM students (10).
